We can announce today:
Spielmarkt-Potsdam will continue in a different form,
from May 23th to 25th 2025,
again on the grounds of the Hoffbauer Foundation on Hermannswerder Island.
The hope that was quietly harboured a year ago that it would somehow continue seems to be coming true.
With the new organiser “GospelGames e.V.” from Magdeburg, the games market will be smaller and certainly different in format.
Chairman Johannes Fähndrich says: “People have repeatedly told me that the games market should continue. It was simply an event with a special flair, with a mix of play and education, creativity … That seems to be unique in the games scene, and so we would like to continue the Spielmarkt. With the Hoffbauer Foundation, we have a strong partner at a well-known location just outside Berlin and look forward to working with the foundation.”
The existing elements will continue to be on deck; at the same time, of course, there will be changes in many areas. This is why, for example, the title “International Education Forum” will be discontinued. However, special attention will be paid to the area of “School and Play” and all areas of education with fun and games. The board game area will also be strengthened at the New Play Market.
All interested parties can register for the new newsletter at www.GospelGames.de and will then be informed about everything else.
Anyone who would like to support the New Spielmarkt in any way can also register there. Johannes Fähndrich comments: “We want to continue to offer a really nice event, but we also have a lot of respect for the task. It can only succeed if many others get involved with us. With practical support, with finances and also with prayer. If many players each do their own special part, then we will have a wonderful New Spielmarkt.”
The previous Spielmarkt homepage will be handed over to the new organiser in the next few weeks, so that the Spielmarkt will continue to be available at the familiar address www.spielmarkt-potsdam.de.
Irrespective of the continuation of the Spielmarkt as a major event, plans for a Spielmarkt Academy and a play education training programme are continuing. Anyone interested can contact Gabriela Fütterer from the Sozialpädagogisches Fortbildungsinstitut Berlin-Brandenburg (SFBB). Contact: gabriela.fuetterer@sfbb.berlin-brandenburg.de
We would like to take this opportunity to bid a final farewell to the previous organisers and hope to see you again – perhaps at the New Spielmarkt
